Let's start with THC and CBD

What is THC?

THC (tetrahydrocannabinol) is the main compound in the cannabis plant, responsible for feelings of euphoria, relaxation, and many of the other effects of cannabis. Cannabinoids and terpenes are the main compounds in the cannabis plant that get you high or provide medicinal benefits. The two main cannabinoids are THC and CBD.

What is CBD?

CBD (cannabidiol) is a therapeutic compound produced by cannabis. It is commonly extracted and processed into oils, gummies, topicals, etc. It is a non-intoxicating (will not make you high) compound found in cannabis and hemp. Using CBD is great for managing anxiety, stress, pain, and other symptoms.

Now, let's talk about Terpenes

Categories of cannabis

Flower/Strains
Topicals are cannabis-infused lotions, balms, and oils that are absorbed through the skin for localized relief of pain, soreness, and inflammation. Because There are different kinds of strains/flowers. Each one contains different characteristics.

Indica strains are known for being physically sedating and perfect for relaxing. Sativa strains typically provide more invigorating, uplifting cerebral effects that pair well with physical activity, social gatherings, and creative projects. Hybrid strains tend to fall somewhere in between the indica-sativa spectrum, depending on the traits they inherit from their parent strains.

Because of these perceived differences, medical patients using cannabis to treat their symptoms and conditions may also consider a strain’s classification. A patient suffering from fatigue or depression may use a sativa during the day, and another treating pain and insomnia will likely choose an indica strain at nighttime. High-CBD strains, which are preferred by patients treating seizures, anxiety, pain, and a few other conditions – may be of either category, but offer little to no psychoactive effects.

Ask your Budtender which flower/strain is best to treat your symptoms or conditions.

Edibles
Cannabis edibles are foods and beverages infused with cannabis. You can find a wide selection of cannabis-infused baked goods, gummies , sauces, pop corn, cooking oil, chocolates, mints, sodas, etc.

The benefit of consuming cannabis-infused edibles is the ability to feel the effects of cannabis without having to vaporize.

it can take anywhere from 30 minutes to 2 hours for the effects to kick in. Because the cannabis within the edibles has to go through your digestive system before entering your bloodstream, the effects may take hours to set in and the strength of effects gradually builds to a peak. The duration of the effects can last anywhere from a couple of hours to a full day depending on how much you ate.

Trying edibles for the first time can be intimidating, you have to take it low and slow. We recommend starting with edible that have both THC and CBD, do not take more than 2 mg of THC, and wait at least 3 hours before consuming anymore.
